My philosophy with Cedar & Rose is to support and encourage healthy evolution through inspired lifestyle. I am excited to embark on this next phase as Cedar & Rose lifestyle continues to evolve. My passion is to provide soulful nourishment for both the physical and spiritual bodies. I want my clients and students to feel uplifted and welcomed every time they have an experience with me.

I began my time and career in Tofino when we originally opened an Aveda Concept Salon in 2006, known then as Studio One. My team and I serviced the community for a fabulous 15years. It was a passion project and love story I will always hold dear to my heart. In fall of 2019 I was inspired to recreate and reinvent the salon which became Cedar & Rose Lifestyle Salon. In the spirit of collaboration, we connected a doorway to Coastal Bliss Yoga to further create culture and community between the two spaces. The synergy between the salon and the yoga studio and our west coast lifestyle has existed almost since its inception.

This lifestyle hub has allowed me to fuse my passions: Beauty, Lifestyle and Yoga. I have been teaching at Coastal Bliss Yoga since 2016. Introduced to yoga at the age of 15, I have trained as a teacher in Hatha/Iyengar yoga, Sattva yoga, Anusara yoga Immersion and certified in pre-natal yoga. The yoga studio is a wonderful Kula, a community of beautiful teachers and practitioners. Together, Cedar & Rose and Coastal Bliss Yoga have offered a welcome west coast experience to replenish mind-body-spirit connection.

An idea that takes root and becomes tangible is a powerful thing like a seedling that grows first into a spindly sapling reaching for the light and over time grows into itself — a magnificent cedar. Western Red Cedar are remarkable –living through storms, lightning strikes and even tsunamis to survive thousands of years. They are witnesses to the constantly evolving change of the landscape and the people. The interrelationship between the cedar and Indigenous peoples on the west coast is central to Nuu-chah-nulth culture. Cedar has remained central to the west coast way of life. It is because of the stewardship of Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations, along with a group of activists who shared their respect for the forest, that Meares Island was protected from logging, becoming one of Canada’s early Tribal Parks. More areas have been added for protection over time.

Cedar & Rose acknowledges that we operate on unceded Tla-o-qui-aht Territory and within the protection of the Tribal Parks. We are committed to the vision of sustainable business in the conservation economy here in Tofino, BC on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
